As a mam of 3 i have experienced postpartum hairloss three times now , I’m currently 4 months postpartum with my third child & my hairloss is beginning to peak.
Postpartum hairloss is very common and reportedly affects 4 out of 10 woman who have given birth in the previous 3 months .
I’m going to share some tips I found helpful in the past and what I’m currently doing to prevent further hair loss.
1.) SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
Im a big fan of the Nioxin range of shampoos and conditioners and found they have made my hair appear fuller and stronger , The nioxin range is clinically proven to strengthen hair from the root , However I have found nioxin very drying on the hair so It’s important when using nioxin to replace the moisture lost with a hydrating conditioner on your mid lengths and ends . I also treat Nioxin as a perscription for my hair and when the hair loss stops I move on to my daily hydrating shampoo.
2.) MASSAGE THE SCALP
Several studies suggest that massaging scalp regularly can stimulate hair growth .
I’ve been using my Bamboo Paddle Brush morning and night to help massage my scalp. The firm bristles on our bamboo paddle brush not only feel lovely and relaxing but will help to stimulate blood flow to the scalp, This actually helps promote hair growth.
3.) LESS IS MORE
Healthy hair requires a healthy scalp so it’s important to allow your scalp to breath .
Ill admit in the past I was a self confessed dry shampoo ADDICT
Although I found my sensitive scalp did not react well to using this regularly so I stopped using it and in return my hair and scalp feels all the better.
Thats just some of the tips I’m currently doing to help my hair and scalp
hope you find them helpful also
